Message from QPAT President Heidi Yetman – April 14, 2023

“According to the employer, these proposals will retain and attract teachers. It is disturbing to me that the employer thinks that by removing student codes, removing class averages, forcing professional development on teachers, and promoting online teaching for any reason it deems suitable, will attract and retain teachers. There is nothing in this proposal that will improve class composition or the workload. It goes to show that the government does not value the teaching profession. “ – Heidi Yetman, QPAT President

FSE/QPAT Press Release April 13, 2023

Although the employers claim to want to speed up the bargaining process, they haven’t proposed any solutions to the key issues identified by teachers, especially class composition and lighter workloads.

It’s time to pay attention to teachers’ priorities!

Every additional task given to teachers takes time away from them assisting and engaging with their students. For students to succeed, teachers need real classroom support, not empty gestures. #HereWeAre #onestlà #QPAT
