About Us
The Pearson Teachers Union (PTU) is the union representing all teachers working for the Lester B. Pearson School Board.
We are one of the largest anglophone teacher unions in the province of Quebec, representing teachers in over sixty elementary schools, high schools, adult education centres and vocational training centres. Our mandate is to protect and improve the professional, economic and social welfare of our members.
The PTU Office
At the PTU Office, you may reach out to our President Matt Wilson, as well as to our two full-time Union Advisors, Erica Lamothe and Pasquale Machado.

Matt is responsible for the political life of the union, and is also the main spokesperson for PTU in relation to the LBPSB, to our provincial association QPAT and with the media. When there are local negotiations to conduct with the LBPSB, he is also the Chief Negotiator for the PTU
Erica specializes in questions related to teachers in the Youth Sector (elementary and high schools) relating to contracts, working conditions and staffing. Pasquale specializes in questions related to teachers in the Continuing Education sector (Adult Education and Vocational Training) relating to contracts, working conditions and staffing. Pasquale also takes care of questions related to parental rights.
The PTU Staff also consists of Melissa Noel, who takes care of the day-to-day operations in the office, Sonia Dumont, who coordinates our communications with members, and Beverly Kennedy, who takes care of our bookkeeping.

PTU Delegates
The PTU Delegates serve as the link between the PTU Office and teachers in our schools and centres. Delegates meet with the PTU Executive and Office monthly to discuss issues of importance and to help make policy decisions for the PTU. They consult with their colleagues before meetings and report back afterwards.
Each school or centre is entitled to elect one delegate for the first twenty teachers in active service, plus an additional delegate for every additional twenty teachers (or major fraction thereof). Schools and centres may also elect an alternate, who acts when one of delegates is unavailable.
