Founders’ Memorial and Jack Johnson Memorial Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded to a child, grandchild, niece or nephew of a QPAT member in good standing who has graduated from secondary studies and proceeding to their first year of full-time post-secondary studies.

Applicants must be intending to attend a post-secondary institution during the 2026-2027 academic year to be eligible.

QPAT and Starling Minds – Webinar Series

As part of the continuing effort to support members through challenges at work and at home, Starling Minds will again be offering a webinar series on an important topic that could be helpful in managing daily life.

Title: Embracing Menopause and Beyond: How to care for your mind, body, and hormones through change.

When: Tuesdays, May 12 & 19, 2026 (7:00 PM to 8:15 PM ET)

For those unable to attend live, the webinars will be available through the Starling platform for on-demand viewing.

The sessions will be led by Mindfulness Advisor Tara Achkar and Naturopathic Doctor Dr. Paola DeCicco. This two-part series will provide practical tools, insights, and strategies to help navigate women’s health changes with confidence and vitality. While designed with women in mind, anyone interested in supporting women’s health and wellness is welcome to join.

Session 1: Understanding the Midlife Transition

Explores the hormonal shifts that occur during perimenopause and menopause. You will learn supportive strategies to improve sleep, manage stress, and maintain overall well-being.

Session 2: Building Strength, Vitality & Resilience

Focuses on ways to support long-term health and energy during midlife and beyond. You will explore approaches to nutrition, movement, and emotional well-being, and gain practical ideas for enhancing resilience and vitality.

Guided by friendly experts, you can expect:

  • Valuable tools to care for your mind, body, and hormones
  • Guidance for navigating perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause
  • Strategies to restore balance and build confidence through change
  • A compassionate space to learn, reflect, and connect

The webinar series, as well as the Starling Minds digital mental health support program is free for all members, as well as for members of their family (16 years and over).

Adjustment of Teacher Salary Scales

Statistics Canada released the Consumer Price Index (CPI Quebec) for March 2026 today. The results confirm that the threshold for triggering the mechanism to protect our purchasing power, reintroduced in our collective agreements, has officially been reached.
